New students
By submitting your application you are not automatically guaranteed an offer of accommodation. An offer of accommodation will only be made once you have firmly accepted an unconditional offer to study at Sheffield Hallam University and you have received a CASE number from Admissions at the University upon payment of your tuition deposit (non EU applicants only).
Returning students
By submitting your application you are not automatically guaranteed an offer of accommodation. An offer of accommodation will only be made once we have checked your suitability as a returning student with your previous landlord.
General terms and conditions
Following confirmation of your course application status (and visa confirmation if applicable), allocations will be based upon the following criteria
- date your application was received
- the availability of your accommodation preferences
- exceptional circumstances
No guarantee can be given that any specific individual residence or preference can be met where demand is high.
Only one application per person will be accepted.
Late application and those which are a result of clearing or insurance choices cannot be guaranteed allocation where demand is high. In exceptional circumstances applicants will be referred to our expertly organised househunting events held in September.
If you accept an offer of accommodation in Sheffield Hallam University allocated residences, you will be required to abide by the terms of occupancy of the residence you have been allocated. The terms of occupancy will be included with your room offer and should be read and understood by you before you accept your offer. The accommodation contract between you and your landlord will be formed once you have signed and returned your contract with any associated payments by the date on your offer.
The information which you supply to Sheffield Hallam University on your application will only be used in relation to your application for accommodation, associated tenancy and related correspondence, in accordance with the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.
Sheffield Hallam University reserves the right to change any aspect of the accommodation it provides. Only Accommodation Services can guarantee your place in our allocated residences.
