Did you know that you can continue to access the SHU learning centres after you finish your studies?
This service is free of charge and applies to both the City and Collegiate campuses.
Alumni members can use the learning centres during Helpdesk opening times: Monday-Thursday 8:45-21:00, Friday 8:45-18:00 and Saturday-Sunday 10-17:00.*
Services and facilities

Borrow print resources: print resources are subject-orientated by campus -use Library Search on the Library Gateway to check availability and location.

Helpdesk: staff are on hand to help with enquiries and registration

Scanning, printing (from a USB stick) and photocopying: Helpdesk staff can assist with these (chargeable) services
Unfortunately we are unable to offer access to on-site computing facilities and electronic resources such as eBooks and eJournals, which have license restrictions (current students only). This is something we are currently reviewing.
How to become an external borrower
If you live locally (includes a postcode for Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham, Derbyshire or Nottinghamshire), you can register to become an external borrower for free. Registration is subject to annual renewal.
To register please bring the following to the Helpdesk:-

Proof of completion of your course (original certificate)

Proof of local address (e.g. driving licence or recent utility bill)
