Adaptive re-use of buildings - creative solutions
Seventh annual conference of the Centre for Facilities Management Development
Our annual conference focuses on facilities management (FM) in the public sector. Each year we welcome around 100 delegates from the FM sector, including many estates and facilities directors.
This year's conference theme
With public sector organisations having to substantially reduce their capital expenditure, the adaptive re-use of buildings has never been more important. Re-using existing buildings is one of the highest forms of sustainable design and improved energy efficiency.
At this conference we'll look at examples of such adaptations – and the benefits achieved. We'll also explore other options, such as sharing buildings, improving sustainability, or disposing of land organisations can release.
Conference programme
Highlights for this year's conference includes keynote speeches from Professor Alexi Marmot of the University College London on '13 ways to adapt buildings', and Trevor Payne of Barts Health NHS Trust on 'Creative use of space – engaging the community'.
