Many of our courses incorporate project work where a group of students undertake a strategic project within a company. This can involve investigating product processes, developing business or marketing strategies and designing and implementing websites and other IT systems.

Commercial student consultancy

Sheffield Business School has a unique and cost-effective way of accessing the latest business and management thinking. It offers an alternative to outsourcing work or commissioning costly professional consultants. You can find solutions to problems within your organisation or gain an understanding of your markets by working with one of our student consultancy project teams.

Each project will be monitored by an academic member of staff and professional project managers to ensure quality standards are maintained. The initiative provides a cost-effective way to bring new thinking into your business, while allowing students the opportunity to tackle real life business issues in addition to their studies.

Venture Matrix

The Venture Matrix is a learning tool built into undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, designed to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit among our students and to improve their skills for employment. As a company, you can benefit by providing a real business challenge and get support for a project that has perhaps been put on the back burner.

Example projects include organising events, developing information systems and market research. They can be large or small, and groups of students will pitch for your business.
