Sheffield is changing fast. In recent years, massive investment programmes have transformed the city, creating rapid regeneration, with new visitor attractions, city living complexes, and places to shop, eat and socialise.
University life shouldn't all be hard work and Sheffield has an excellent choice of stylish café bars, lively pubs and nightclubs, nationally renowned theatres, live music, international spectator sport and a thriving cultural scene. Our distinctive £5million Students' Union building, the HUBs, was recently opened and is already a favourite amongst our students and their friends.
Many first-time visitors are amazed to discover that Sheffield is far different from the way they imagined it. It's a green city built on seven hills and five river valleys, with spectacular views and close to the beautiful Peak District.
