Our dedicated placement teams exist to support your placement experience. They offer guidance to help you identify the type of role and organisation that you want to work for.
To gain the most from the experience, it is essential to try and secure the right placement for you. Competition for placements can be strong, so you need to be well prepared if you want to attract the best employers.
To give you the best prospects of gaining a premium placement, we help you to
- identify attractive placement opportunities
- prepare a high quality and professional CV
- write covering letters and application forms to help you stand out
- prepare for interviews and psychometric testing
Placement teams also arrange employer presentations to help find out more about organisations and the placements on offer.
We support you while you are on your placement year. This includes allocating you a placement tutor who visits you at your workplace. Their role is to make sure you are content and enjoying challenging and fulfilling work. Your placement tutor will also help you to resolve any issues that may occur.
International students need to be studying full-time at the University to complete a placement. We can help with advice in areas such as visa applications and extensions.
