'I did a placement with a marketing agency in Leeds to give me a year's experience in industry.

'I think the experience will be really valuable for my future. It improved my transferable skills - such as communication as I regularly had to deal with clients and suppliers. Plus it really gave me a sense of confidence and determination about going out into the workplace.

'It also helped me decide on my career direction as I learnt more about my options. And it's been vital in helping me secure work after my studies as I've been offered a graduate job there when I finish my course this summer.'
