Profile
Prior to becoming a teacher I worked in heavy engineering as a consultant noise and vibration engineer. Subsequently I have worked in comprehensive schools as a teacher and then head of mathematics in three different schools. I have also spent some time in school leadership positions, as assistant head teacher and deputy head teacher. I have also worked in further education as a lecturer and manager for science and mathematics.
As part of my own personal development I was awarded a PhD scholarship in mathematics education, although I completed the three years of the scholarship I have yet to complete the write up of the work which explored the idea of creativity in school mathematics.
I currently teach mathematics and mathematics education to undergraduates and professional year students on secondary mathematics education courses.
