Learning Beyond Registration funding

Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) is specialist education funded by regional NHS strategic health authorities. Modules are delivered to non-medical and NHS professionals, subject to eligibility. It means healthcare staff can be educated in areas that are a priority for their respective trusts.

We are funded to provide LBR provision for staff within Yorkshire and the Humber and East Midlands Strategic Health Authorities. Some smaller health and social care providers may also be eligible for LBR funding.

Dissertation funding

Funding for dissertations is at the discretion of trusts.

  • Dissertation outcomes must contribute to organisational requirements, such as priorities or innovation.
  • You should agree the organisational outcomes of dissertations with your line manger before submitting funding applications.

East Midlands have taken the decision that no further dissertations will be funded in 2012/13. Further details are available on the websites of the Strategic Health Authorities.

Please make sure you apply on the correct financial year form. i.e. if your module starts in February 2014, please apply on a 2013/14 LBR form. • You need authorisation from your trust in consultation with your local line manager (Yorkshire and the Humber and East Midlands) and your trust LBR lead (East Midlands and South Yorkshire region).
  • Your trust will have a LBR application process and procedure which you will need to follow. Could all applicants please make sure that their forms are signed off by both their line managers and LBR lead.
