Interprofessional Learning
Increasing evidence shows that better patient care is achieved within health and social care by effective collaboration between teams. Interprofessional learning helps develop collaborative skills and involves different professional groups learning together.
All undergraduates studying health and social care take interprofessional modules each year. Our learning materials enable students to interact with practice based situations and gain understanding of the service user's perspective.
Interprofessional modules typically make up 25 per cent of the course. This ensures our students gain the collaborative and professional skills needed by the health and social care services and improves their employability.
The Faculty of Health and Wellbeing has occupied a lead position in interprofessional learning for a number of years and have completed many innovative projects in this area.
