Notice to US students wishing to take out US Dept of Education federal loans
Sheffield Hallam University has made a decision to withdraw from any further participation in the US Dept. of Education's Federal Loans Scheme (i.e. Direct Loans).
US students wanting to study at Sheffield Hallam may be eligible to access private loans, but they will not be able to take out 'Direct Loans' subsidised by the US Dept. of Education.
Sheffield Hallam University is unable to recommend particular lenders for private student loans.
The only private loan currently available to students at foreign schools is the Smart Loan from Sallie Mae.
