Vitor Alencar Nunes, Brazil
Department of engineering and mathematics
Vitor Alencar Nunes is from Brazil, joining the department of engineering and mathematics under the auspices of the Brazilian program Science Without Borders. Current, he is studying towards a degree in civil engineering at CEFET-MG (Federal Center for Technological Education of Minas Gerais) in Belo Horizonte, state of Minas Gerais.
During his 6-month stay at Sheffield Hallam University he will be carrying out a research project devoted to the development and characterization of new geopolymers using industrial wastes. This project, in the field of sustainable construction materials, will be supervised by Dr. Feteira from the engineering materials subject group.
Vitor chose to study in the United Kingdom due to its historical richness and culture, and Sheffield Hallam University in particular for its excellent international research profile in the field of engineering materials.
