Arriving at Manchester Airport
Airport pick-up service
Every year we run an airport pick up service from Manchester Airport. Our friendly student crew meet you and bring you by private bus to the University. The service is free, but if you do not book on to the service in advance then there may not be space for you on the bus and you will have to make your own travel arrangements.
We strongly encourage you to use the service. It makes your arrival more welcoming and enjoyable and you can meet other students on your journey to University.
The service is available to all Sheffield Hallam students arriving at Manchester Airport on
- Thursday 13 September – Tuesday 18 September 2012
Complete our arrival information form to book your place. If you arrive after 5pm we may not be able to meet you, and you will need to follow the directions below.
Making your own way from Manchester Airport
If you arrive outside of the dates above, or if you would like to travel on your own, you can use the train or coach stations at the airport. The train and coach stations are clearly signposted at the airport. Follow the signs or ask at the information desk.

Travelling by train
- Costs between £17 and £25.
- Average journey time is 1 hour 20 minutes

- Costs £9.60
