Europe and Central Asia
We welcome students, businesses and academic partners from Europe, and we look forward to you becoming part of our exciting University community.
Our students have the opportunity to take part in Erasmus exchanges during their time with us. We have agreements with over 80 European universities and last year more than 130 students were involved in exchanges with us.
All students from countries within the European Union are eligible to pay home (UK) tuition fee rates and can access a tuition fee loan to cover the fees which does not have to be repaid until after you graduate.
Unlike many courses in Europe almost all of our full-time postgraduate taught masters courses are just one year in length.
We are a founding member of the Northern Consortium (NCUK) which delivers courses around the world.

MSc Leisure Events and Facilities Management
The city and region is very well known for its landscapes and charming citizens; and the cost of living in Sheffield, even though it is the fifth biggest city in the country, is very reasonable.
The university's services are outstanding! Once you are settled you will discover that your teachers are amazing, that the learning centre has all the facilities that you may need, and that the social life within the city centre will satisfy you, no matter what your preferences are.

When I first arrived in Sheffield I was apprehensive at the thought of living with total strangers, in a completely different culture, but I found myself surrounded by friendly and welcoming people.
The knowledge of the lecturers is good and their methods of teaching are very helpful. They always have time to help students with any difficulties, social or academic.
I was and continue to be impressed by the technology and resources available. Being partially sighted, I was allowed extra help from lecturers and access to helpful technology and software. Because of this, I have been able to pursue my course at my full potential.

BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
When I arrived I had a great welcome by the International Student Support Team. They organised a meeting between international students and a series of events. I made a lot of friends straight away and I never felt lost or uncomfortable.
Sheffield is a great city to live in! You walk around and meet lots of friends because there are so many students like me. It's also easy to find a flexible job because employers are used to students. I didn't expect it to be so easy to study here - my little brother and his friends are also students at Sheffield Hallam University now.

Jennifer Iker, Germany
MSc Human Resource Management/Development
I have lived in other places in the UK and Sheffield is definitely my favourite. I felt comfortable from the start, it is easy to find your way around and most places are within walking distance from the University.
The University offers a lot of support for foreign students, for example drop-in study sessions and advice on how to write an essay. This makes it much easier to understand what is expected of you. The tutors are very professional and I find the modules very interesting. This year the University arranged a challenging and interesting work placement for me. There is a lot of work to do, but it is certainly manageable.
