How to apply - information for incoming exchange students

Contact your international office or faculty exchange co-ordinator and ask to see the Sheffield Hallam University information pack for exchange students. This should include information about the courses you can study on exchange so that you can check if we offer the modules you need.

Follow the application procedure as detailed below

  • print and complete the application form for exchange students (.doc, 499KB) and get this signed by an authorised representative from your University
  • attach a transcript of records which details all your University results prior to applying for study abroad - your application will not be considered without this transcript
  • print and complete the learning agreement for exchange students (.doc, 432KB) based on modules chosen from the course information pack and get it signed by an authorised representative from your University - please note that your study programme will only be finalised when you arrive at the University
  • send all three documents to the relevant Faculty exchange co-ordinator at Sheffield Hallam University

Meet the application deadline as follows

  • 1 November for admission to Semester 2 in January of the following year
  • 31 May for admission to Semester 1 in September of the same year

Once your application has been assessed you will receive

  • a letter detailing whether you have been accepted or rejected as an exchange student at Sheffield Hallam University
  • a pre-arrival information pack for international students which will help you prepare for your study period at Sheffield Hallam University

When you arrive, your learning agreement will be finalised and you will be able to send a copy of the agreement to your home institution.
