Sheffield Hallam University has become the only University in the world to work with the Commonwealth Games.
Our students will be working with the Organising Committee for the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010.
The exclusive agreement for student volunteers to work in the Press Operations area at the Commonwealth Games in October was signed at the British High Commission in New Delhi and Dame Kelly Holmes, President of Commonwealth Games England, added her own message of support.
The agreement follows the success of a similar project at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, when Sheffield Hallam students worked with the press team and were the only Europeans among 16,000 volunteers.
In the autumn, 30 student volunteers will fly to Delhi to be part of the official Commonwealth Games team. Read all about the students' experience in Delhi on their blog.
This high profile signing ceremony which took place on 9 March 2010 has been covered extensively in the Indian press, including The Times Of India, The Hindustan Times, The Education Times, The Education Mail and a wide range of online media.
