Meet our people

Ryan Valasapali
MBA
After considerable research I found that Sheffield Hallam University stood out amongst the universities I had short-listed.
I can confidently say that the University has exceeded my expectations. The friendly people and the exciting social life have left me spellbound. The university played its part by assisting me every step of the way in finding a place to stay.
Right from the Meet and Greet service to arranging trips to York and Manchester, the University has done everything possible to help international students like myself feel at home.

The University website provided me with lots of information regarding the University, the course and the city of Sheffield.
Lecturers and professors were glad to help, and the language support and educational guidance has helped me to learn and understand - I found that the system made me confident and independent.
I am living in a privately rented house with some students from the same place as me. I work part-time to meet my expenses. As part of my social life I go clubbing with my mates, and I am actively involved in my communitys cultural association.

MSc in Physiotherapy - Neurological Route
After a week in Sheffield, I started to get my bearings. Sheffield is truly a beautiful place - clean, scenic, with reliable public transport, food to suit almost any palate and most importantly, some of the friendliest people I have met.
The University allows you to get out and see a bit of the rest of the country too, with organised trips to Scotland, Ireland and day trips to local destinations. These are a perfect way to visit new places and make new friends - all at a price that suits the student pocket!

Abhinav Dokania
MSc Pharmacology and Biotechnology
I selected the UK for higher education because of the quality and reputation of a UK degree - which is well known and recognised everywhere.
Student and Learning Services and the International Student Support Team are excellent. Right from when I was preparing to come to Sheffield, during my arrival and even now, they provide lots of help. The Careers and Employment service is also helpful and can provide help with writing CVs and job applications.
Sheffield Hallam University has excellent support for research studies, having good modules which are very recent and up to date. One can really enjoy studying here.
