MSc IT and Management

Sheffield Hallam University has a wide range of postgraduate courses that are very job orientated and career focused. They provide professional certification and have practical courses. This was one of the major factors that led to me choosing to study here.

I was concerned that I did not know anyone and would be moving to live in a new place and a new culture. I was also worried to be leaving my family and I had never even stayed in a hostel before. I share my accommodation with five other students and I made lots of international friends while I have been studying.

MSc Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

I appreciated the online mentoring scheme which really helped me to get lot of information through my mentor about university accommodation and Sheffield, and really helped me to settle in Sheffield without any stress. They arranged extra practical sessions and even shadowing at University clinics to have a look at a real working environment.

In the second semester there is a two week clinical placement which again is a great opportunity to get some practical knowledge.

MSc Advanced Mechanical Engineering (2010 Graduate)

My time at university exceeded my expectations in terms of the friends I made and the memories I will take with me. I enjoyed the course more than I thought I would especially my final dissertation project on renewable energy resources. The course is much more practical than in Pakistan and there are excellent resources such as the books, journals and the internet. I was also able to easily obtain appointments with my professors who were very supportive.

After I graduated I managed to sign up with a company called SOLAR ACTIVE at which I am only working as a volunteer for the moment but hope to work for them permanently after my voluntary work is over. Also, there are a lack of engineers in Pakistan and I know with a British degree that I should be able to obtain a good engineering job in Pakistan.
