At Sheffield Hallam, new ideas are given life and nurtured in an environment where we go above and beyond to encourage and support original thinkers. Committed to building on our long-standing record of academic excellence and success, we believe in constantly improving the quality of our teaching, learning and research to deliver a student experience focused on education for employment.
The Psychology group has demonstrated teaching excellence. Our main course is the BPS accredited BSc (Hons) Psychology and there are joint honours degrees with Law, Criminology, Education and Sociology. We also run a very successful BPS accredited MSc in Health Psychology, and Masters level courses are also offered in Forensic, Developmental and Sport and Exercise Psychology, as well as in Cognitive Neuroscience. We also run a Masters in Research Methods, which you should be willing to contribute to.
We take a holistic approach to the student experience, aligning our teaching with high-quality learning support and the very best of facilities. Building on this approach you will contribute to the University's collaborative programmes with international partners, curriculum development and delivery at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and other forms of scholarly activity as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will also design and deliver innovative, high quality and challenging learning experiences, which equip your students with the skills, knowledge and attributes required by employers.
We want to hear from you if you have expertise in the area of Organisational Psychology, developed through research, scholarship, or professional practice, and are capable of generating that enthusiasm and commitment in our students. Your ability to inspire and motivate, and to connect with a wide range of people will enable you to engage with both your students and with relevant business and professional environments to promote student learning in a real world context. You will also need the organisational skills to manage conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
Research active, and ideally with some peer reviewed publications, you will have (or be very close to completing) a doctorate in Organisational Psychology and have a good honours degree. This should be supported by a well-developed knowledge and understanding of Organisational Psychology and some experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
