The Teaching and Learning Technical Team in the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing supports a wide range of practical teaching in the Biosciences Department. The team’s main duties include preparation of materials for undergraduate and postgraduate practical classes, troubleshooting practical issues as they arise, demonstrating instrumentation and techniques, developing future practical classes in collaboration with academic colleagues, providing cross-team support for project students and maintenance of the sites infrastructure and logistical arrangements.
As supervisor for the team you will be directly involved in practical delivery along-side the team and ensure that positive customer focussed outcomes are achieved. You will operationally manage the specialist accommodation e.g. timetabling, implementation and maintenance of Health & Safety systems, and provision of regular reports to the technical team leader. You will work closely with the team leader to ensure that team members have the ability to meet business planning objectives; the ability to motivate staff and display excellent interpersonal skills is therefore essential.
The ability to line manage and supervise staff combined with substantial practical experience are vital for this role.
