The national award winning Venture Matrix is a work based learning scheme that aims to improve the enterprise skills and develop the employability of students by enhancing their entrepreneurial capabilities during their academic study. Within the Venture Matrix students are given the chance to tackle real-life challenges within a secure and safe environment whilst gaining new skills for their future employment. Students are able to set up their own simulated ventures or social enterprise and trade with each other, mirroring the real world, but in a risk-free environment. The Venture Matrix is open not only to students and University staff but also to organisations and businesses including schools/colleges within the local region. To progress this agenda the Venture Matrix team are seeking to appoint an External Relationship Manager.
You will be responsible for generating, maintaining and developing relationships with external organisations and businesses on behalf of the Venture Matrix team, where Venture Matrix students are involved in learning opportunity projects. In addition, you will assist academic staff and students in creating these relationships, and organising promotional events.
You will manage the Venture Matrix External Projects Sub-Team, therefore previous experience of managing a team is essential. Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) you will have an understanding of the Venture Matrix scheme, and experience of project and customer relationship management. Excellent communication skills and the ability to proactively develop new business opportunities is essential.
