Marian is a criminology lecturer teaching, researching and publishing on gender and crime, victimisation, sexuality, hate crime and sexual violence in the UK, particularly Northern Ireland. She is a board member on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGB&T) issues for South Yorkshire Police.
