Performance lecturer James is an expert theatre and performance in relation to philosophical, cultural and anthropological studies. He has a particular interest in India and Japan, and aspects of the influence of religion, ritual and spirituality on Eastern theatre and performance forms. He is currently studying Kutiyattam, a form of Sanskrit theatre traditionally performed in the state of Kerala, India.
