A teaching study fair for people interested in moving into the teaching profession or furthering their teaching careers is being held at Sheffield Hallam University this week.
People will have the opportunity to talk to teachers from a range of local schools, and discuss career paths with academic staff at the University.
Head of teacher education at Sheffield Hallam, Paul Dickinson, and Tracy Watterson, from the Teaching Agency, will lead an introductory session at the study fair. Teachers from local schools will also be there to give people an insight into training as a teacher.
Paul Dickinson said: “Training to become a teacher allows you to start on a career that is exceptionally rewarding. It is a career where you can share your passion for a specific subject area , where you can continue learning and contribute positively to the lives of those you teach.
"There are excellent employment opportunities as you follow a direction where every day is different and where every lesson can add value to the learners in your care.”
Sheffield Hallam's Routes into Teaching fair takes place on Wednesday 20 March, from 5-7.30pm at Sheffield Hallam's Owen Building, City Campus. Anyone can come along and find out more about getting into the profession.
