Former Emmerdale bad boy Tom Lister was put through a rigorous fitness testing regime with experts from the University's Centre for Sport and Exercise Science this week.
He is cycling almost 3000 kilometres for the Zoe Challenge, an event being run by charity Hope for Justice, which aims to raise awareness of and put an end to human trafficking.
Tom and Hope for Justice CEO Ben Cooley worked with CSES staff Rob Scaife and Alan Ruddock on a range of fitness tests. They had their lung capacity and blood tested, before each taking part in a tough cycling challenge to measure their performance levels.
The team were able to take away some useful training advice before they start the challenge, which begins in Latvia in May.
