MBA Master of Business Administration
`This course has given me business knowledge, presentation skills, team work experience and improved my English language skills.
`The best and most challenging aspect of the course was the consultancy project which involves working in a group to provide a solution to a real company problem. We researched the problem and then presented our solutions to the company. This gave us the opportunity to work as a team learning how to deal with a real company problem and provide solutions and benefits for the company.'

`During my studies at Sheffield Hallam I especially appreciated being taught by professors with real world experience ready to equip us to confront real situations in our professional careers.
'Sheffield Hallam University is an institution that brings together cultures from all around the world. Coming together from different origins is an extraordinary opportunity. It has a great environment where teamwork is put into practice. What's more the events organised by SHU give students the opportunity to meet each other and create contacts that will go beyond their studies.
'I’m thankful to SHU for providing me with an opportunity to work at Sheffield Business School with English people (who are truly amazing!). The experience has bolstered my confidence, enhanced my analytical and planning skills and made me more competent to face the stiff market competition in India.
'I’m glad to say that within 15 days of completing the MBA I have been offered the challenging role of Business Development Manager in India's leading staffing company, providing a range of temporary and permanent manpower solutions to over 1000 clients. It has also given me a rise of approximately 150% in my salary.
'I made the right decision to study at Sheffield Hallam and I would certainly advise others to do so.'

'Overall, the MBA course at Sheffield Business School is very well-organised. The contents of each subject include both UK and global issues. The seminars are interactive and discussions always occur whenever we want them to. The tutors are all very friendly and supportive.
'The main library, the Adsetts Centre, has sufficient books and journals, it also has state-of-the-art high-tech related facilities. During the week, the library opens for 24 hours, so I often stayed there until late at night. Free wi-fi is available so I could always connect online. SHU space, a web-based intranet, is very useful, not only for academic-related information, but also student life and career-related information.
'All Sheffield Hallam students can access its intranet. Also, we can manage our work there. The library gateway on SHU space is very useful when you are looking for text books and journals, just go to the site and search online. Regarding academic journals, you can access as many journals as you want, I've never have any difficulty when I search for information for my course work.
'Sheffield Hallam has a very friendly atmosphere. The tutors are always friendly and when I see them, we often have a conversation. The tutors and administrators are very helpful. When I have a problem in my student life, academic writing, or many other things, they always support me.
The situation makes me so happy, because they know me and care about me.
'Many of my friends from foreign countries chose Sheffield Hallam due to it being one of the safest cities in the UK. I agree with them.
'The course has taught me the importance of time management. I have also improved my writing in English. I particularly enjoyed the strategic management in action module. The tutors are very impressive and their way of teaching inspires me. The group presentation in this module taught me how to discuss with colleagues from different backgrounds and how to make an effective presentation in front of an audience.
'I am very proud of my time here at Sheffield Hallam. It was worth the time and money, I'd never be able to obtain such an experience back home.'

`The MBA course outline and teaching are outstanding! It is all about the students. You are strongly encouraged to be involved in the teaching; there is a lot of case study analysis and group work which can improve your learning. You have access to a portal dedicated to learning and development, which you can access anywhere and at any time to download subject specific journals.
`My lecturers were more than willing to help, explain and provide support, particularly during my dissertation. My supervisor worked closely with me to ensure my research was credible and presentable.
`The MBA residential helped me relax into the course, I was able to talk to staff on a personal as well as an academic basis and develop a rapport with my colleagues. Due to the variety of tasks, I improved my leadership and time management skills which I believe has made me a more effective manager.
`During my course I had the opportunity to undertake a three months internship at Optimum Medical Solutions which helped me to develop my skills and knowledge. This opportunity has been a stepping stone to the job I am currently doing. Immediately after I graduated I got a job as a data analyst at Hygiequip Europe Ltd. Most of the things I learnt during the course I now use in my work place.
`The best part about the MBA learning experience is that it empowers you!'

`I chose to study for an MBA at Sheffield Hallam because it is a very modern university and the modules are designed to target present and future organisational challenges in the global business environment.
`Every session is interactive and the lecturers hone your skills to the maximum. I benefited from the post module assignment system. This is designed to enable you to understand how each module relates to the business environment. It was truly avant-garde since you are not restricted to any particular literature but can access a wide range via the university’s magnificent Adsetts library. Apart from boosting the wealth of knowledge I gained from reading, it also served as an indication to the tutors whether the required level of understanding had been achieved.
`The modules are delivered throughout the year in a way that encourages incremental learning. Modules such as critical thinking and research, strategic management in action, innovation in digital enterprise and global business prepared me, not only to face challenges in the business environment, but also to derive solutions. I was able to successfully implement this knowledge to improve complex business processes in my role as a business process consultant at Unisys Technologies, Bangalore, India, during my summer internship.
`The MBA residential helped me to understand group dynamics which are of prime importance to any manager. As well as getting to know my colleagues, another important aspect were the activities. These were designed in a way to help nurture your business decision making, time management and analytical and problem solving skills.
`My lecturers have provided excellent support and guidance throughout the course which has helped me to complete my masters. They are very well-equipped with rich experience and knowledge, which is just unbeatable.
`I am now in a challenging role as a consultant with the strategy and change division of IBM Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, where I am implementing the knowledge gained from this course onto ‘real-time’ projects.
`The MBA at Sheffield Hallam has definitely sharpened my thinking, in the end the experience is there for you to carve in whichever way you want.'
