Normally five GCSE passes at grade C or above including mathematics, science and English language, plus 100 points from GCE/VCE A levels or BTEC National qualifications.

We may also accept you, if you have no formal qualifications but can show evidence of your ability and a genuine commitment to studying mathematics.

If you are in employment, you may be able to make an APEL (accreditation of prior experiential learning) or APCL (accreditation of prior credited learning) claim for the second year modules. Please contact us for more information.

We treat this two years' foundation course as part of the mathematical sciences degree programme. Offers are for up to seven years of part-time study. This is made up of the foundation plus one of our mathematical science degrees.

If English is not your first language, you need evidence of one of the following
• IELTS – 6.0 or above, with a minimum score of 5.0 in each skill
• TOEFL – 550 (manual paper-based assessment)
• TOEFL – 250 (electronic-based assessment)
