Part-time
You attend eight days of study workshops, delivered in four blocks of two days. In addition, there are four master classes and four half days of group work, supplemented by independent study.
The course is usually completed in nine months.

About this course
This course is designed to give you the skills you need to move your career, your organisation and the Sheffield City Region forward.
It allows you to work with leaders and managers from across the region, developing innovative solutions to problems while meeting your own learning objectives.
The focus is on developing entrepreneurial initiative in the region and giving our leaders the skills they need to make a difference.

This is the first time that a city region has taken a strategic approach to leadership across all public services, private and third sector organisations. This collaborative approach enables skill sharing across sectors, improved services and enhances the regions ability to respond positively to current challenges.
Teaching and learning methods
The teaching and learning methods used are
study workshops held over two consecutive days
one-to-one coaching
master classes which take place between 4.00-8.00pm
action learning sets half day sessions with cross-organisational teams, where you apply your learning to a shared strategic challenge
Success through partnerships
Initially developed for public sector services, the course successfully demonstrated that value is created by cross-agency working. Now it has been fine tuned and refocused to develop broader partnership working between public, private and third sector organisations.
The course is designed and delivered by Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield, through Business Advantage.

Leadership, coaching and action learning
one-to-one coaching helps you develop the skills you need for volatile and challenging workplace environments
master classes enable you to respond to current and dynamic leadership challenges
you develop greater awareness and understanding of how you operate in the workplace, enabling you to enhance and focus your impact and influence as a leader
you learn how to use your own leadership style to improve employee morale and develop team and partnership working
Building a culture of innovation and improvement
You learn how to
apply appropriate innovation tools and techniques
identify, evaluate and implement innovative solutions to your organisations problems
Initiating, adapting to and managing change
You learn how to
identify drivers for change
translate a regional or organisational vision and aspirations into a longer term plan for action

Developing customer-centric services

Assessment
Assessments are focused on specific outcomes relevant to your professional role. Assessment is jointly managed by university staff and your employer and is based upon your portfolio of work, strategic approach and presentations.
Entry requirements
The course is aimed at existing senior managers and potential future leaders. You need to be educated to degree level or have equivalent work-based experience.
