This course is for you if you are engaged in a formal mentoring or coaching relationship in the early years field. Your learning is usually in the context of your workplace but the focus can also be on your personal experience.
The style of this course is practice-orientated and develops your skills in mentoring and coaching. You create a personal development plan to support your progression and aspirations. You draw on your knowledge and experience and link this with mentoring and coaching theory, research and policy. Your aim is to develop reflective and creative approaches to issues and concerns arising from your own and/or others' mentoring and coaching practice.
The course begins with a core module which typically starts with a full day's session on a Saturday. You then select one further module from a choice of two to gain the postgraduate certificate.
Part-time – typically one to two years including
• one or more Saturdays 10am–4pm
• evening individual tutorials
