About this course
We offer award-bearing/accredited continuing professional development and in-service training (INSET) in design and technology education.
We are a regional support centre for the Digital Design and Technology (DDT) initiative in Yorkshire and Humberside. DDT is a national initiative, funded through the Design and Technology Association with the aim of supporting the integration of new digital technologies into school-based design and technology and engineering curricula.
Exploring the convergence of emerging digital technologies, this programme of meetings and workshops is designed to support teachers in developing innovative, high quality strategies and approaches to teaching and learning in the area of digital design and technology.
Adopting aspects of the STEM philosophy with its emphasis on the integration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, you focus on how CADCAM, electronics and communications technology (ECT) and other digital technologies can enable pupils to explore the STEM subjects through practical application.
We also offer you the opportunity to study for an in-service postgraduate qualification to masters level through our MA in Design and Technology Education.
