This course builds on your awareness and experience of art theory and practice and lets you experiment with different media within fine art.

We support and encourage you to produce work based on an understanding of the relationship between the process of making and the context of showing. You examine a range of fine art practices to help you identify and establish creative strategies for developing your own studio practice.

You work in our purpose built studios and well-equipped workshop facilities to gain and improve skills in • painting • printmaking • film • photography • video • sculpture • performance • animation • installation • sound • electronic and digital media.

Academic excellence is supported by a large team of experienced technical specialists. You also develop your critical skills to reflect on your own and others’ work. We run a series of lectures given by leading national and international practitioners, acclaimed researchers and visiting artists.

Through our links with institutions across Europe, America and Australia we offer an international exchange programme during the second year of the course. Many are supported by Socrates or Erasmus grants.

Supported within a creative studio-based learning environment, you increasingly decide the direction of your work.
