Watch a video of Kirstie Hill talking about the benefits of studying at postgraduate level.
Normally one of the following in a relevant subject
• a good honours degree (2.1)
• a recognised postgraduate qualification
• an equivalent recognised professional qualification
Relevant subjects include • accounting • banking • economics • finance • financial services.
If you do not have such academic qualifications we may consider your application individually, based on your personal, professional and work experience, and other formal qualifications.
Overseas applicants from countries whose first language is not English must normally produce evidence of competence in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 with 5.5 in all skills, is the standard for non-native speakers of English. If your English language skill is currently below an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills we recommend you consider a Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve an equivalent English qualification.
If you do not meet the above criteria you can apply for the Graduate Diploma in Business and English. After passing this diploma we automatically offer you a place on one of our business or finance related masters degrees.

Heng Ge

MA/PgDip/PgCert Accounting and Finance, 2009 graduate
'My experience at Sheffield Hallam was amazing! I have made great progress in both my knowledge of the English language and my academic knowledge.
'I have made lots of friends here. My new friends were my flatmates, classmates and fellow students. We helped each other to adapt to the new environment. I played the leadership role in CSSA (Chinese Student in Sheffield Association). It has the same functions as the Students' Union at Sheffield Hallam but it represents and works for all the Chinese students.
'I chose my course because I am interested in finance and accounting. I particularly enjoyed the financial analysis, international reporting and forensic accounting modules.
'As a postgraduate student, the workload was quite heavy because we just had one year to learn nine modules. However, the facilities and the study materials which the University provide were really good.
'Sheffield Hallam is a very good university because it provides a lot of student support. The experience here has changed my life!'
