Normally a good undergraduate degree and/or relevant postgraduate degree (with a dissertation mark of 60 per cent or higher). Some work experience related to the research question you wish to explore would be an advantage.
Your application should show that you have an appropriate combination of academic qualifications, professional experience and a well-considered research proposal – this should be of four to six pages in length and clearly set out the justification for undertaking the research. If your first language is not English you must produce evidence of competence in English such as an IELTS score of 7.0 with 6.5 in all skills. TOEFL test with an overall score of 100 internet based, with a minimum component score of 23 in listening, 23 in reading, 26 in writing and 22 in speaking.
