These are the normal entry requirements but we consider each applicant individually

• evidence of achievement at level 3 (for example, A level or NVQ level 3)

• a level 2 qualification in English or communications and mathematics or numeracy

• one year of experience working in the broad area of education

• ability to fulfil the academic demands, including information and communication technology requirements

As you work with children you need to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as a Criminal Records Bureau) check.

If English is not your first language you need an IELTS score of at least 6.0.

 

Attendance

Part-time – typically four and a half years. You normally attend on Monday afternoons from 2–5pm.

2013/14 academic year

Typically £14,940 for the course (typically £3,320 a year for years one to four and £1,660 for year five)

Assessment

All modules use continuous assessment.

You complete a range of assessments including • presentations • essays • reports • portfolios • posters • blogs • Blackboard conferencing • annotated bibliographies • creation of artefacts, for example a picture / word bank for key stage 2 children with learning difficulties.
