Modules

Coaching and mentoring skills and techniques
You develop critical awareness, understanding and application of the skills and techniques of mentoring and coaching in a range of live settings.

Developing strategies for change
You explore the themes of organisational strategy and change in the context of coaching and mentoring.

Coaching and mentoring and leadership
This module helps you understand how coaching and mentoring can influence, and is influenced by, the study and practice of leadership, within an organisational context.

The psychology and practice of coaching and mentoring
This introduces models of
• coaching and mentoring based on established therapeutic approaches
• applying behavioural science to improve life experience, work performance and well-being for individuals, groups, and organisations that do not have clinically significant mental health issues or abnormal levels of stress

Consultancy theory and processes
You develop understanding of the theory and practice of consultancy, whether you are acting as external or internal consultant or a line manager using consultancy approaches.

Coaching and mentoring supervision
This module enables you to engage with supervision as part of your coaching and mentoring practice. It helps you understand how supervision fits within an organisational context.

Coaching and mentoring scheme design and evaluation
You develop critical awareness and understanding of mentoring and/or coaching scheme design and evaluation, which helps you justify and apply the ideas within your own context.

Research methods
This module looks at the nature of management research by engaging debate about different forms of research strategy.

Dissertation workshop
You analyse and develop an issue associated with coaching and mentoring, and complete an in-depth piece of research on it.

Assessment

We assess each module by written assignment and skills practice by observation. You complete a dissertation to gain the MSc.
