This course is suitable if you
• have experience of teaching English to speakers of other languages
• wish to specialise and gain a qualification in teaching English for academic purposes (EAP)

EAP is taught to international students studying or preparing for study at university in the UK and overseas.

• the differences between general English and EAP
• needs analysis
• skills development and assessment
• academic cultures
• materials and course design
• becoming a critical and reflective practitioner

The course is part of the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) teacher education scheme. It is a professional development qualification designed to meet the increasing global demand for well-qualified teachers in EAP.

This course counts as one third of our MA TESOL course.

Our tutors are practising EAP teachers and course leaders with extensive experience and expertise in designing, delivering and managing EAP courses. We have an established reputation for providing e-teacher education courses at postgraduate level.

You use Blackboard, our virtual learning environment, to aid your learning. You also receive peer support from other students on the course.
