About this course
If you already have an appropriate HND or foundation degree in an IT or computing-related area, this course offers you the chance to gain an honours degree through one year of full-time study. You gain up-to-date skills in industry standard database and web systems and learn about modern approaches to business intelligence and entrepreneurial skills.
You further develop the knowledge and skills you have already gained on a range of computing themes, with a particular focus on advanced web technologies and change management. This includes modules on web services, .NET as well as business and industry.
You develop your technical IT skills and awareness of professional issues as well as the interpersonal skills you need to become an effective computing professional.
The course has been designed in consultation with industrial partners, such as Plusnet, Technophobia and B2Net, to meet the specific needs of these employers so you can be sure your studies are up to date with the needs of business. Our partners also contribute real-world case studies for you to work on to give you a unique perspective into the issues faced in the industry.

The year involves an individual dissertation and practical experience in a range of subjects.
Lectures and practical sessions take place at our City Campus where you have access to specialist computing laboratories as well as the learning centre, which houses our award-winning library and multimedia resources.

A HND or foundation degree in a computing-related area with a merit profile.
If English is not your first language you will need an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, with a minimum score of 5.5 in each skill.
