About this course
This course is based on the final year of our BSc (Honours) Hospitality Business Management with Conference and Events. It allows you to top up your current qualifications to honours degree level.
You can apply for this course if you have a • higher national diploma • foundation degree • or equivalent in a relevant subject.
Hospitality events cover a huge area of the industry including • wedding venues • conference and exhibition centres • corporate hospitality • private events • events catering.
The course prepares you for a career with real energy. You learn how to create and deliver tailored hospitality packages from product launches to charity balls that meet the expectations of your customers.
You’ll use a combination of creative thinking, careful research and planning. But you also need to thrive on the fast thinking and flexibility needed on the day of delivery.
The course combines the facilities management, hospitality management and events skills that drive these careers.
Conference and hospitality events management allows you to further apply your skills and theoretical understanding.
It is essential that you make your own contacts with industry, so you get the opportunity to attend trade shows and take part in industry visits. You can also represent your student cohort at invitation days, on course committees and with employers.
International award
You can also complete an international version of this qualification which places greater emphasis on the global events industry.
