Environment

Many of our environment courses are professionally accredited or have been designed in consultation with professional bodies. They include the • Landscape Institute • Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management • Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Our environment academic staff are in demand by key decision-makers within the sector. Many sit on the committees of national conservation bodies including Natural England, IEMM and the Peak District National Park Authority.

We attract high levels of environment research funding and have three major research centres. We are also home to the Countryside Recreation Network – a community of 26 government agencies and other organisations working to share information and promote good practice in environmental management.
