The programme is supported by £8 million from the Higher Education Funding Council for England and the Department for Children, Schools and Families. Regional networks were set up to deliver a range of activities and events to promote the role of languages in business development and economic growth.
Our involvement
We are a lead partner in the Yorkshire Universities consortium which brings together schools, colleges, regional higher educational institutions, the Regional Language Network and Comenius Yorkshire and the Humber. Course leader for MSc International Marketing and MSc Strategic Marketing
I worked in the publicity and editorial departments for several fiction and non fiction publishing companies in London after graduating in English literature. I also worked for a year with an events and conference organisation that involved European travel.
I was a member of the National Union of Journalists for some years and was involved in PR activities. I went on to manage marketing departments in publishing houses before moving to Sheffield. I took a maternity break during which I freelanced as a copy editor and proof reader as well as copy writing for government departments.

I began lecturing for Oxford College of Marketing in 2000, delivering intensive and distance learning Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) courses before taking a full-time permanent job as a senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University in 2009.
I am committed to the employability agenda for Sheffield Hallam University, working with placement students and providers and negotiating consultancy projects.
