Consultancy and commercial services

Analytical services

The BMRC offers consultancy and analysis in a variety of analytical techniques. These have been effectively utilised by clients for a range of reasons including

  • accurate mass measurement
  • determination of molecular structure
  • molecular mass of biopolymers
  • synthetic polymer analysis
  • trace metal analysis
  • qualitative analysis of volatile and non-volatile organic compounds
  • drug analysis
  • drug metabolite analysis
  • agrochemical analysis

Please see our equipment page for the variety of instrumentation we currently possess

Chemical quantitation and identification

The BMRC has extensive equipment and expertise that are frequently accessed by research, public sector and commercial clients. The centre has capabilities to offer a range of non-coupled and MS coupled techniques including

  • GC/GC-MS
  • LC/LC-MS
  • LC-MS-MS

Ion analysis

We also offer an ICP service for the detection and quantitation of ions. We can analyse solutions directly, or can carry out microwave acid digestion on suitable solid or semi-solid samples. Analysis can be carried out by either

  • ICP-MS
    or
  • ICP-OES

Structural analysis

Using our recently acquired NMR system we can also provide structural analysis of molecules. This can be carried out by proton-NMR, Carbon-13 NMR or phosphorus-31 NMR spectroscopy.

We also offer an ion chromatography service.

All analyses can be charged on a per sample, or per hour of instrument time basis. For further information regarding our services or to discuss the prices involved, please don't hesitate to contact us.
