Research areas

Staff at the BMRC are making a significant contribution to advancing our understanding of biological processes and systems, in particular disease processes, leading to identification of new therapeutic targets.

Our research is divided into four key themes

Although these are central research areas, progress is enhanced in all our activities by considerable interdisciplinary collaborative work. We provide a high level of experience with an impressive list of publications covering a broad range of areas.

We have an excellent record of external income generation, with funding sources including the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), The Wellcome Trust, The Multiple Sclerosis Society, Yorkshire Cancer Research, Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Syngenta and Health and Safety Laboratories.
