Evaluation of the South Yorkshire Social Infrastructure Programme
The South Yorkshire Social Infrastructure Programme (SYSIP) was funded by Yorkshire Forward, the South Yorkshire Objective 1 Programme and the Learning and Skills Council. Its funding amounted to around £37 million and provided support to voluntary and community sector infrastructure organisations in South Yorkshire between 2006 and 2009. The aim of SYSIP was to increase the sustainability of the voluntary and community sector.
The two central themes of SYSIP around the sustainability of the sector and its added value of the sector to the achievement of local policy agendas.
The evaluation ran in three phases from 2007 to 2009 and involved reviewing the context, development, delivery and impact of the programme. The evaluation was led by Peter Wells at CRESR with mtl consultants and COGS. The research team also included Elaine Batty, Chris Dayson, Sarah Pearson, Deborah Platts-Fowler (all CRESR), John Trinnaman and Sarah Garner (both mtl), Mandy Wilson and Ruth Ardron (COGS) and former CRESR colleague Rob Macmillan (Third Sector Research Centre, University of Birmingham).
For further information about the research please contact Peter Wells.
