About the Centre

The Centre for Science Education (CSE) has evolved from a small teacher training department in the 1980s to its present role as a leading research and curriculum development unit. The CSE team is drawn from science educators (the majority with a number of years' teaching experience), associated professionals, researchers and administrative, creative and technical personnel.

Projects and activities are delivered in collaboration with expert educational consultants and frequently involve practising teachers and schools. In carrying out its work CSE undertakes projects for a wide range of bodies including government and scientific organisations, research councils, academic establishments, large corporates and industry leaders.

CSE balances its strong regional presence through its CPD and enhancement and enrichment work with its highly regarded national portfolio of curriculum development and project activity.

Further information about individual activities and initiatives can be found in the projects and research section.
