Research interests/current work
The main part of Emily's role is secondary professional development leader for the Science Learning Centre Yorkshire and the Humber, which involves developing and delivering high quality continuing professional development (CPD) for science educators in the region.
The Science Learning Centre Yorkshire and the Humber is part of the national network of Science Learning Centres, and Emily also has the role of secondary programme content co-ordinator, monitoring and assuring the quality of the CPD programme across the network.
Before taking up this role, Emily taught chemistry in secondary schools around the world, has worked with trainee teachers and in curriculum development. She has written a number of resources, with recent publications for the Nuffield Curriculum Centre, Boardworks and Curriculum Press.
Research collaborations
Emily has been involved in a number of research collaborations recently, including the development and delivery of the 'Getting Practical' programme, with the Association for Science Education, and the development of Teacher Action Research Cluster for Yorkshire and the Humber.
