Centre for Sports Engineering Research
The Centre for Sports Engineering Research (CSER) is an internationally renowned centre of excellence for research and consultancy, with over 140 years of cumulative experience. It focuses on developing fundamental understanding of the complex sporting environment and the creation of new innovative technologies.
The centre undertakes research and consultancy for a diverse range of sports companies and sport organisations including the International Tennis Federation, Adidas, Prince, Puma and UK Sport. In the build up to the London 2012 Olympic Games, the centre has been working as a UK Sport Innovation Partner, a role that sees it providing technological support across many sports, including swimming, diving, boxing and gymnastics.
CSER also delivers large and complex collaborative projects with agencies such as the European Regional Development Fund and the European Social Fund.
Public engagement is embedded into the culture of the centre and numerous high profile projects have been delivered with organisations like the British Council, the Royal Academy of Engineering and The Institution of Engineering and Technology.
