Leading an active lifestyle

This one-day workshop focuses on assisting you to lead an active lifestyle.

Participating in this workshop will provide you with opportunities to explore the benefits and risks of exercise, assess your readiness and confidence to engage in physical activity, and help you develop strategies to maintain an active lifestyle.

The content of this course includes

  • why exercise in the first place and what's all the fuss about?
  • am I ready to become more active and can I actually do it?
  • identifying how much you 'value' being physically active - is it a priority for you?
  • develop strategies to incorporate physical activity into your busy diary
  • design and set goals to help motivate you to engage in and/or maintain physical activity habits
  • identify strategies to assist you when 'things get tough'

Participating in this workshop will assist you in

  • understanding the benefits and costs of being physically active and what this might mean for you in terms of your everyday living
  • developing strategies to help motivate you to remain physically active
  • identifying ways to avoid becoming frustrated with trying but failing to remain a physically active individual
  • making the first steps to leading a more active lifestyle
