Research interests/current work
Dave's particular areas of interest are the development of foundational level athletes and the analysis and development of strength and power qualities for sport performance.
Other interests include
- talent development
- power lifting and Olympic weightlifting
- delivery on the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS)
- strength and conditioning for elite golf
- scientific support of the student athlete at University
- strength and conditioning practice for injury prevention
Background
MSc Sport therapy and rehabilitation, BSc Sport Science
Dave is employed as a sport science officer for Podium Performance and works in consultancy, research and teaching. He is the lead strength and conditioning coach at Sheffield Hallam University and works out of High Performance Hallam Strength and conditioning facility and the Centre of Sport and Exercise Science (CSES), Dave's role involves a great deal of hands-on athlete consultancy in both field- and gym-based environments.
Dave is also a well-respected sports therapist, greatly adding to his practice in this conditioning role.
