Research interests/current work
Coach to Sport Sheffield, the Volleyball England Men's Volleyball development programme where young players from around the country come to Sheffield to train and compete to raise their standard, so as to play for the national team or get a professional contract.
FUNdamentals of Movement, particularly related to team sports and ball sports. Currently working with Activity Sheffield Golf and Basketball development programmes and producing materials for Volleyball England's Sport Plan website.
Background
Keith played many sports at junior county level, including gymnastics (county champion) football, basketball and cricket. On leaving school he joined the Army and became an assistant physical training instructor in 7th Parachute Regiment, where he started playing volleyball and became the captain of the Army team.
On leaving the Army he started coaching and in the following years gained levels 1, 2 and 3 English Volleyball coaching qualifications and became a senior staff tutor. He then attended various international coaching seminars which inspired him to gain levels 1, 2 and 3 Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) international awards. In the past year Keith has gained a certificate in neurolinguistic programming (NLP).
