Research interests/current work
Nick's main areas of interest relate to public health, in particular nutrition and physical activity, and the role of behaviour change. He is currently working as research assistant on the Barnsley 'Be Active' project, a public health intervention that aims to increase physical activity levels of people with a BMI of 25+. In addition, he is also part of the 'Small Changes' team and will be delivering weight management support on the 'Be Active' programme.
Background
Nick completed his BA (Hons) Sports and Business Studies related degree at Southampton Solent in 2006. After working in various roles including sports facility management, he went on to complete an MSc in Nutrition and Public Health Management from Sheffield Hallam University in 2009. This allowed him to gain accreditation with the Nutrition Society and become an associate in public health nutrition.
His personal interests include playing football, cycling, wakeboarding and has recently taken up bouldering. He is also a Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) qualified diver.
